About Thyme + Timber

What is Thyme and Timber you ask? Well for starters, if you have a great appreciation for creating delicious meals as much as I do AND you are also an avid nature lover, you’ve come to the right place! I’m Christina and welcome to my Thyme and Timber life.

I’m so thrilled to be able to share recipes, tips and tricks to make exceptional camping meals for the great outdoors much easier! We’re not talking about your average hot dog on a stick or campfire pies, although those are undoubtedly quintessential camping musts. You’ll discover some tasty meals along with some secrets on prepping and easy cheats. I’ll also be sharing some of our great adventures including the bumps along the on the road that keeps us on our toes and the solutions to help you on your very own journey.

How it all started…

It all began with my passion for creating the most delicious food in the kitchen and combining it with my true love for nature exploration. Heading out to the forest for some spectacular hikes and adventure meant being away from my home based kitchen. Oh my kitchen, the place where I’d slay a killer meal and cook all my worries away, I was so torn! I was determined not to sacrifice my passion for cooking while loving every moment of a camping expedition. Whether it’s off the grid (aka boondocking) or in a campground, you’ll find me using my tiny travel grill, embracing a hot, smoky, smoldering campfire, (yum, that smoky induced flavor!), or utilizing my tiny RV stovetop. I am always on a constant, serious mission to create some exceptional meals for the great outdoors!

I love a good cooking challenge as much as I love taking the most challenging hiking trail. I also feel pretty lucky to have an awesome camp buddy, as well as an honest food taste tester, my husband Bram.

We currently travel around part-time with our tiny home on wheels, a 2020 Coachmen Catalina Expedition. I wasn’t exactly onboard for glamping at first, I was a die hard, rough and tough tenter. But as soon as we started looking at RVs, I was sold and it turned out to be quite fabulous. I’ll be giving plenty of tips on how to make it a home away from home on a very friendly budget.

Thank you checking out my blog. I am so excited to have you along on our journeys and I know you’ll be enjoying some of those tasty meals to fill up those hungry bellies after a long days hike. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @ thyme.and.timber for your daily update on meals and adventure.
